In 2009, Sharon and husband, Chris, and Janet and husband, Frank left family and singing careers in Calgary, Alberta to retire to Manitou Beach, Saskatchewan, Home of the Healing Waters. After two successful trios in Calgary, Janet and Sharon began singing as a duet, The Two of Hearts, never dreaming that they would find another singer in Manitou Beach who would want to form a trio. Sometimes, dreams do come true. Soon, the Two of Hearts became the Three of Hearts with the addition of Carol Austin who had just moved to Watrous, 6 kms from Manitou Beach. There is an ongoing argument as to who was the luckiest: Sharon and Janet, who were once again able to make the 3-part hamonies they loved, or Carol who says a lifetime dream has been fulfilled.
"They actually gave me my own microphone!", squeals Carol. "We are busier than we ever were in Calgary" says Janet. "How often do you get to do what you love doing, and get paid for it!"
The Three of Hearts perform in the rural communities of Saskatchewan, having done two tours in Melfort, Tisdale, Nipawin, Carrot River, Arborfield and Porcupine Plain. They have an upcoming tour in Saskatoon, Biggar, Kerrobert, Kindersley and Outlook. They performed at Centennial Celebrations in Cudworth and Stalwart, several Christmas performances and July 1st celebrations in Watrous and Manitou, and Winterfest at World-famous Danceland at Manitou Beach... to name a few.
The Three of Hearts have released three CDs: Medleys, Country Hearts and Christmas Hearts. The CD The Heart of Rock 'n' Roll is planned for middle of May, 2012 release.
The Three of Hearts offer two different programs:
1. A 45-minute singalong with ukulele suitable for small rooms in long term care facilities, especially effective with residents with dementia;
2. A high-energy floor show, 1 to 2 hours, suitable for celebrations with an audience of 50 years or more. The Three of Hearts sing popular songs of the '30s, '40s, '50s, and a smattering of songs from the '60s.
The Three of Hearts have released 3 CDs with another scheduled to be released mid-May, 2012.
Medleys was released only a few months after the group began singing together. It is a compilation of Standard Tunes dating back to the early 1900s up to the era before swing and jazz genres were the musical rave. There are 11 medleys covering 43 tunes on this CD.
Country Hearts was released in October of 2011. This CD is mostly old songs back when Country was called Country and Western music. Hank Williams, Sr and the Sons of the Pioneers are featured.
Christmas Hearts was released in December of 2011 and is mostly Christmas classics rather than spiritual Carols, with the exception of Ave Maria
The Heart of Rock 'n' Roll was released in May of 2012 features songs made famous by the Everly Brothers, Bill Haley and His Comets and Elvis Presley.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE THREE OF HEARTS:
I would like to tell you about a great singing group at Manitou Beach, SK. The Three of Hearts, Janet Fedor, Sharon Moffatt and Carol Austin. They have brought a unique singing style to this area with their era of music. If you have an opportunity to hear them, do so. You will not be disappointed.
Jim Herr, Watrous, SK
The Three of Hearts is a delightful trio who sing monthly at Manitou Lodge Special Care Home. Their music is lively, yet soothing for our residents, particularly those residents who have dementia. Their repertoire is varied including sing along, 3-part harmony and easy listening styles. The gals have a great rapport with the seniors and will sing to them individually at times. We have also had them perform at special occasions such as our Ladies' Night where they bring their back-up music. Our residents and family guests were 'wowed' with their professional performance. I would recommend this group for any audience.

It was a wonderful experience for both staff and residents. I think these ladies are wonderful and I think it is a very special thing they are doing by touring and bringing their music to us for the residents to enjoy.
Kim Schuster, PineView Lodge, Nipawin, SK
They were awesome! I wish that the price of mileage would somehow change for us. In nursing homes we are limited to what we can spend. You were such a good group to listen to. How can we have you back. I would love to see the Musical Journey videos on DVD so that residents in the homes can watch on TV.
